In 2012, we had the honor of editing a special issue of Mimeo Mimeo dedicated to Warsh. Mimeo Mimeo is a periodical featuring critical and cultural perspectives on artists’ books, typography, and the mimeograph revolution. Now that Mimeo Mimeo 7: The Lewis Warsh Issue is out of print, we would like to offer readers the opportunity to download it in its entirety for free.
Introduced by Daniel Kane, readers will find an interview with Warsh conducted by his friend and publisher Steve Clay; a first reprint of his first book of poems, The Suicide Rates; as well as previously unpublished poems, stories, collages, and photographs. This issue of Mimeo Mimeo also contains an anecdotal bibliography featuring every book Warsh published in addition to an index of all the periodicals edited or co-edited by Warsh. There is also a complete checklist of all the Angel Hair and United Artists books, as well as Angel Hair and United Artists through 2012. The cover is a portrait of Warsh by his friend, the artist Joe Brainard.
