As part of a new literary public art project named the St. Louis Poetry Slab, permanently engraved concrete poems will appear on public sidewalks throughout the Greater St. Louis bi-state area. The poem “Buck on Baseball” is proposed for installation across from Baseball Hall of Fame announcer Jack Buck’s statue at Busch Stadium, home of the 11-time World Series champion St. Louis Baseball Cardinals. A plan and post-installation photos are presented here.
AARON WILLIAMS has had poems accepted by Vallum, The Healing Muse, and Not Your Mother’s Breast Milk. One of his concrete poems has been sandblasted and stepped on in Alton, Ill. Williams is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is the founder and champion of The 7th Grade Poetry Foundation and publisher and editor of six annual student poetry anthologies resulting from its past programming.
