I’d like to thank whomever at Facebook is in charge of the algorithms that feed me posts from just some of my friends, some of the time, for sharing with me a post from my friend Joseph Torra about some paintings of his. Wait, Joe’s a painter, too? Of course he is.
So I asked him if he’d like to be a featured artist in an upcoming issue, and he said yes. I then enlisted the help of his longtime friend, Boog City poetry editor John Mulrooney, to gather some of Joe’s work, extant and forthcoming, and interview him on his many artistic endeavors. I’m real happy to create in a world with Joe in it.
And thanks again for reading Boog City. In June we’ll be featuring art and words from, and a Wanda Phipps conducted interview with, the many-hatted artist, poet and fiction writer, editor, and organizer Michael Rothenberg. Also, printed matter editor Bill Considine, our longtime poets theater curator for the Welcome to Boog City Arts Festivals, and a poets theater playwright in his own right, will transition over to the new position of poets theater editor, and he’ll be gathering a different short play for each issue on the site. As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the site. Email me any feedback to editor@boogcity.com.
as ever,
David
